15 Year-Old Girl Who Participated in Inaugurals Shot Dead in Chicago (Video)
15-year-old Chicago honor student, Hadiya Pendleton who participated in the inaugural festivities for President Obama’s re-election was fatally shot near her school.
Hadiya and several other teens were trying to avoid the rain when someone jumped over a fence and began shooting at them from out of nowhere. Hadiya and her fellow classmates were released early because of exams.
A 16 year-old boy was also shot during the melee, is listed in serious condition. Hadiya was shot once in the back and died at a Chicago Children’s Hospital..
Hadiya was an honor student, volleyball player, and majorette at King College Prep. She was a member of the school’s marching band that traveled to Washington for the inauguration festivities last week.
“She was awesome,” one friend told the Chicago Tribune at the hospital.
Chicago is half pasted crazy and a quarter to lost. The death toll among young people in Chicago is just scary.
