Delonte’ West is banned from attending the annual team White House meet and greet with President Obama.  Why you ask?  It is understandably part of protocol to run background checks on all potential visitors before hand.  Well, you may recall on a previous post where Delonte’ caught speeding, on a three-wheeler motorcycle, with 3 guns (one in a guitar case; strapped to his back), and while under the influence of prescription medication.  The arrest went down in DC and was caught on video and can be seen HERE.

Needless to say, the White House officials don’t play that mess, and Delonte’ has to wait outside.  I’m kidding!!  Delonte’ is from the area and he will be posted up at his home while the rest of the team hob knobs with POTUS.

You may be surprise to know that Delonte’ takes responsibility for his actions that put him in this position.  He made the following statement:

“I’m banned from going to the White House, so I’m not going to make it, but I’m going home to D.C., I’m just not allowed to go to the White House. That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in your life. You can’t go to the White House.”

I’ve been there 100 times in my lifetime,” said West, who was born in D.C. “I live right around the corner. I live in D.C. It’s going to be ashamed the President isn’t going to get a chance to meet me. I’m the president of my house.”

No homey, it’s going to be ashamed that you are not going to be able to meet the POTUS.  The ego on this guy right?

Update:

I’m not sure what’s going on, but Delonte was quoted saying he was banned from going to the the meet and greet with POTUS.  He gave indications that the reason was his past troubles.  The quote went down during an impromptu interview after their Hornets game.  Now the secret service says that he was not banned and he was on the list to attend.  I throw my hands at the whole thing.  I just wanted to point that out.  I’m not sure what’s going on.
