Happy Birthday!!! “The Champ,” Muhammad Ali is 70!!
The greatest celebrated his birthday Saturday, but he actually turned 70 today. He celebrated at a party in his home town of Kentucky, at the Muhammad Ali Center, where he was accompanied by his wife Lonnie. That party was the first of 5 that he will have this month.
Ali was welcomed with intense cheers and clapping. The party doubled as a fundraiser to raise funds for the Ali center. The private party with 350 attendees included Lennox Lewis. Lennox an huge admirer of Ali had this to say: “I feel so proud and honored that we’re able to show our feelings and show our support for him what he’s done outside the ring…. just the bravery, the poise, the feeling, the sacrifice. He’s truly a great man. He’s still the greatest”
