CANNES, France (AP) — Kanye West will debut a short film titled “Cruel Summer” at the Cannes Film Festival.

The rapper announced Friday that he’ll present the film on Wednesday at the French festival. West and his creative collective DONDA will screen the “short art film” out of competition in Cannes.

West’s press release promises “a fusion of short film and art installation” and an “immersive seven-screen experience.” It will remain open to the public for two days following its premiere.

West has previously directed music videos for his music, including 2010′s “Runaway.”
Kim said we can definitley expect to see Kanye on the show, with Kim saying: “I want to show my life.
“If we are having dinner and he does show up, I’m sure we’re not going to go, “Stop the cameras!”
While we are on the subject, Kanye will appear on the reality tv show, Keep Up With the Kardashian’s.

The clip then cuts to the couple who look loved up as they smile at each other while sitting in a nightclub.

After confirming that Kanye will be appearing on the show, Kim said she intends to be more private with her relationship. She says she does not want to ‘over share’ like Khloe has done.
She gives examples like, “I’m not going to be taking a bubble bath and drinking champagne or on a sex swing [on camera] like Khloé and Lamar do,’ Kim told E! News. ‘It’s not going to be like that.”

Jay-Z is in a Philadelphia State of Mind:

Jay announced a two-day music festival in the City of Brotherly Love.

The “Budweiser Made in America” festival will feature nearly 30 acts “that embody the American spirit” across three stages at Fairmount Park on Sept 1. and Sept. 2, which is Labor Day weekend.

“It’s such an iconic place, so it felt like a natural fit,” Jay-Z said of Philadelphia in an interview after the press conference. “You’ll get to come out and have two great days, listen to some amazing music (and) discover some new bands.”

Jay-Z was joined by Mayor Michael Nutter on Monday atop the city’s art museum steps, made famous by Rocky. The festival will benefit United Way Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

The New York-born rapper said 70 percent of the acts are confirmed, and will include rap, rock, R&B, Latin and dance performers.

“I’ve always believed in great music,” Jay-Z said. “I don’t believe in the lines that separate music … that’s for people that can’t easily define what they’re hearing, so they have to put it in some sort of box. Me, I listen to anything I like.”

Tickets for the festival go on sale May 23.

A feverish crowd of fans was on hand, chanting his name. When one yelled out that Jay-Z’s was the best, the rapper paused and said: “I agree.” LMAO…He’s a part time comedian.

The 42-year-old entrepreneur also talked about a film deal between his Roc Nation imprint and Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment. He said they’re close to completing the film “Annie,” which will star Smith’s daughter, singer Willow.

“We’ll be producing a number of films,” he said. “We may have another (film) that comes before it, but we’re looking at shooting `Annie’ pretty soon. (We’re) just getting script together and that’s pretty close.”

Jay-Z and Beyonce had their first daughter, Blue Ivy, in January. He said of Beyonce’s first Mother’s Day: “Amazing. I can just imagine that sort of feeling. It was pretty good for her.”

The upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic wont have any of his actual music in it.

2010 attempt at a Hendrix biopic, to be directed by Paul Greengrass and financed by Legendary Pictures, ended when the estate refused to authorize music rights.

Jimi Hendrix’s estate won’t be able to deny the producers of a new biopic the rights to use the iconic rock guitarist’s music because they aren’t asking for it. Darko Entertainment announced today that Andre 3000 is set to play Hendrix in the movie, titled All Is By My Side. The hip-hop star and actor, whose real name is Andre Benjamin, will portray the musician before he was the superstar Jimi Hendrix we all know. “To the best of our knowledge, this production never approached Experience Hendrix about licensing the music,” a spokesman for the EH estate told Deadline. The Darko film will get around the music by centering on his origins and young life: it will detail Hendrix growing up in Seattle, joining the Army, playing in back-up bands throughout the South and with the Isley Brothers and Little Richard among others. Haley Atwell and Imogen Poots also have been cast. Production is set to start later this month in Ireland. John Ridley will direct based on his own original screenplay. Darko is financing, and Content Film is handling foreign sales.

Cissy Houston, Anthony Anderson

Whitney Houston’s mother has released a new album of gospel tunes, her first new music since her daughter’s death and in more than a decade.

Cissy Houston’s “Walk on By Faith” was released by Harlem Records on iTunes this week and includes songs such as “Living Shall Not Be In Vain.”

Harlem Records rep Bill Coyle said Wednesday her last album was in 1997. He says she started working on the album last year and musically arranged all four tracks.

Cissy Houston has kept a low profile since her superstar daughter died in February, giving just one interview.

Whitney Houston was 48 when she drowned in a Beverly Hills, Calif., hotel bathtub on the eve of the Grammy Awards. An autopsy showed cocaine played a role in her death.

MCA co-founded Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, and Ad Rock … and went on to churn out some of the most iconic albums in hip-hop … including License to Ill, Paul’s Boutique, Check Your Head and Ill Communication.

The group has won multiple Grammys and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.

The Beastie Boys haven’t performed live since summer 2009 — and during one of their last ever performances at Bonnaroo that June, MCA appeared noticeably less energetic than his group mates.

MCA recently became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.

The Beastie Boys’ most recent music video was released last year for the song “Make Some Noise” — and it stars a laundry list of A-listers, including Rashida Jones, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Amy Poehler, Steve Buscemi, Kirsten Dunst, Zach Galifianakis, Orlando Bloom, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Jack Black.

Yauch is survived by his wife and daughter. He was 47.

Jennifer-Lopez-Casper-Smart

Jennifer Lopez has hired her boyfriend Casper Smart as lead choreographer for her summer tour.

Go head suga momma.  She has no shame in her game.  I really can’t be mad at her. The girl is having fun and she’s seems happy.  You only live once.

During a press conference Monday to announce her 20-date tour with Enrique Iglesias and Wisin Y Yandel, Lopez revealed that Smart would be choreographing her show. “I’m working with Jamie King–also Beau ‘Casper’ Smart is my new choreographer,” she, blushing.

Fans who enjoy following Lopez and Smart’s romance via cozy paparazzi vacation pictures and even their super-sexy video for “Dance Again” likely won’t want to miss seeing their sizzling chemistry live on stage.

Aside from his personal relationship with Lopez, Smart does have the credentials to support his advancement from background dancer to lead choreographer. He has choreographed for Beyonce, Eminem, Kelly Rowland, the and popular television shows “So You Think You Can Dance,” “The X Factor,” and “America’s Best Dance Crew.”

Lopez will also be busy on tour, caring for her 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme. “Obviously, we’re going in the summer so they won’t be in school at that time, so they’re going to come with mommy on tour,” Lopez said during the press conference. “I don’t know how that’s all going to work. Hopefully, there’s always grandma’s house if they get really tired and stir crazy. But, I can’t be away from them for too long. They’ll be with me most of the time.”

Jennifer Lopez’ tour kicks off on July 14 in Montreal. Tickets go on sale May 4.

The long anticipated “Where Have You Been” is finally here.  Rihanna has been teasing the video for a couple weeks now.  Posting cover art pics and releasing a total of three behind the scenes videos.  In one of the videos she was seen rehearsing for the video and it is also when we find out she is finally doing choreographed dance moves. She ain’t bad either.  The girl is well on her way of dominating the bizness.  She sings, acts, dances, and models.  The chick is kickin’ azz and I doubt if she bothers to take names.
