Legal Whispers: Terrence Howard Sued by Former Management Firm

Legal Whispers: Terrence Howard Sued by Former Management Firm

A lawsuit reveals that Terrence Howard was in jeopardy of being fired from the popular TV series, Empire.  Authentic Talent and Literary Management are suing him for breach of contract in LA Superior Court, claiming that the actor owes “several hundreds of thousands” in commissions from his Empire royalties.

Court documents state that the management firm claimed they were “an integral part” in his landing the lucrative “Empire” gig and “played a key role in the resurgence of Howard’s career.”  Hmmmmm,  I always thought Taraji strongly suggested that Terrence play her opposite, but I digress.

AT&LM say that Terrence terminated their contract via an email in 2014.  In the email, he fully acknowledges that he owed them their commission, but has allegedly never paid them.

Howard’s contract with the show runs for seven seasons, and the suit claims he stopped making payments to the firm in March 2016.  The talent firm also alleges they saved his Empire gig.  Page Six says they never mentioned how or what put his job on the line, but one can allude to his divorce drama.

Empire’s creator, Lee Daniels, caught a bit of heat, by way of his pockets for defending Terrence and slandering Sean Penn in the midst of it all.  This seemingly conveys that Lee was not thinking about firing Terrence at all, but that just me.  Like. I doubt very seriously Lee was anywhere near on the brink of firing Terrence.  They need more people.
